Called Gustav III airport, Saint Bartholomew airport and Saint John airport, is located on the island of Saint Bartholomew, the place where the richest celebrities spend their holidays. Most of them, however, choose a different mode of transport – yachts. Gustav III airport is considered one of the most difficult to land. Suffice to say that pilots who obtain permission to land on the island must undergo special training.
First of all, the location of the runway is not conducive to safety. On one side there is a hillside, and on the other – a beach always full of tourists. The belt ends with a cliff. In addition, it is very short – it measures only 640 meters! Adverse winds are another threat. The port serves regional and charter flights. Most of the aircraft arriving here carry no more than 20 passengers.
